The original Wilson’s Orchard & Farm location was established in Iowa City in 1980. Last April, our family-owned food and farm operation opened its second location just five miles south of West Des Moines, and by fall we were welcoming their first couples into a brand-new wedding venue.
To mark the venue’s first anniversary, Wilson’s Orchard & Farm is hosting the Harvest of Love Giveaway. More than 100 prizes will be awarded, valued at over $100,000, with the “Honeycrisp” Grand Prize including a free wedding venue rental and complimentary menu tasting.
Couples can enter by sharing their love story- a short narrative accompanied by a few photos. Winners will be chosen by a panel of Wilson’s Worker Bees, based on the strength of each story. With over 100 prizes, we're 'spreading the love.'
Wilson’s Orchard & Farm is just a five-minute drive from West Des Moines on I-35; close enough to be convenient, but far enough that you’re surrounded by flower fields, orchards, rolling hills, and the sounds of the countryside.
The 115-acre farm grows more than 80 varieties of flowers, berries, apples, and pumpkins. In addition to the event venue, the property includes a farm-to-table restaurant, a market, and a family-friendly farmyard play area. Every season brings its own photo opportunities across the fields and grounds.
Our main event hall was built from reclaimed barn wood salvaged from two historic Madison County barns. It carries the warmth and character of a barn, paired with clean lines, soft lighting, and modern amenities. The venue also features a private outdoor ceremony site, outdoor patio, guest restrooms. free parking, and two dressing rooms (one with an en suite).
We pride ourself on our farm to table culinary program, including both our Ciderhouse restaurant as well as our banquet operations. Our talented culinary team prepares everything from scratch with high-quality ingredients. Whether couples choose a plated dinner or a family-style meal, the menu will feel personal and thoughtful. A full bar is also available, featuring our own hard cider along with craft cocktails, liquor, beer, and wine.
Couples planning to marry within the next two years may enter by completing the form. Entries require contact information, a short love story (2,000 characters or less), and 3–5 photos.
- We are accepting submissions beginning October 1st, all entries submitted through the end of October will receive two free farm admission vouchers.
- Entries must be submitted by the couple themselves, third-party submissions are not permitted; however, we fully encourage sharing this unique opportunity with anyone who might be getting engaged or is already engaged and currently looking for a venue.
- To be eligible for prizes, at least one person per couple must be subscribed to our newsletter and following our Des Moines accounts on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok (account links provided in the form).
- Weddings must take place on or before December 30, 2027, with dates to be agreed upon between the couple and the venue.
About the Prizes:
'Honeycrisp' Grand Prize: Waived venue rental fee ($5,000 value), complimentary menu tasting for up to six guests, 16 hours of venue use on wedding day, including ceremony site, reception hall, and all other facilities
'Pristine' Prizes: 2026 weddings → up to $2,500 | 2027 weddings → up to $1,000
'Rosalee' Prizes: 2026 weddings → up to $1,500 | 2027 weddings → up to $750
'Snowsweet' Prizes: 2026 weddings → up to $1,000 | 2027 weddings → up to $500
'Song of September' Prizes: 2026 weddings → up to $750 | 2027 weddings → up to $250
